2004 TOYOTA TACOMA OIL LIGHT ON AFTER OIL CHANGE

Asked by Martybob Feb 20, 2017 at 12:24 PM about the 2004 Toyota Tacoma 4 Dr V6 4WD Crew Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After I changed the oil (changed every 5,000) the oil light is on.  It has oil but
the light will not go off.  How can I get the oil light to go out?

Is it the oil change light or the low oil pressure light? If it is the oil change light you need to reset the reminder.

It is the Oil Light, the little red oil can with the drop of oil on the spout.

Overfilling can cause the oil to foam so I would remove the excess oil. Don't drive the truck with the oil light on.
