Ok...here is what happened, sorry for lack of description. Truck was in 2wd on a soft surface, got stuck so I engaged the 4wd but did so while engine was revving and rear tires spinning now the 4wd will not engage in hi or low....did I screw up the transfer case? Or what is the possible issue. I don't think it's electronic because I can hear the switch near the glove box
I suspect you broke something. Was there a bang when you pulled this stunt?
Yes....but I'm used to it thuding when it engages so I didn't think anything of it. Well thanks for the help....i guess this is a painful learning experience
When you engage the 4WD the front and rear wheels need to be spinning at the same speed. I always engage 4WD when I am either stopped or driving with a light load, no acceleration.
