Slow acceleration upon starting

Asked by David Nov 01, 2015 at 07:23 PM about the 2000 Toyota Tacoma 2 Dr SR5 Extended Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2000 Toyota Tacoma 2.4L SR5, 223k miles.
Upon starting the vehicle (doesn't always happen. random occurrences)
the acceleration will be slow, for roughly a minute or two, then resume as
the truck normally should. No matter how hard I press the gas pedal it will
continue the same slow acceleration (I do not have an RPM gauge.) I also
do not know what steps I should take to look into this problem, besides
going into a shop.
Thank you.
