Suburban Trasmission

Asked by Aug 04, 2017 at 11:19 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Suburban 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Suburban 1500. I have had
this vehicle in the shop 3 times now for a
intermittent transmission leak. It seems to
puke trans fluid after it has been parked in
my driveway for a day or 2. Any ideas what
could cause this?

That all depends on when this happens, if it does this after driving and then you park it and it starts to shove it out then the tranny is overheating, you may need to go to a transmission cooler and do away with the cooler in the radiator, the only other thing I can think of is the fluid is puddling inside the bell housing due to a leaking front pump seal and when it sits the it starts to trickle out form there, everything else would only leak under pressure and that would be very apparent. Just my two cents.
