My repair guy noticed my flex fuel sensor was nicked during a routine oil change. Wants to fix for $900, also referred to it as "octane" sensor. No warning lights or problems with truck.

I just want to make sure flex fuel and octane sensors are one in the same. Does it need
to be replaced?

Unless, you have engine light on,there is no problem,my advice would be wait for the truck to tell you something,s wrong,it is not hurting anything, don,t waste your money.
