When should Chevy SSR fan come on?

Asked by Homeyderf Nov 10, 2014 at 08:30 AM about the 2005 Chevrolet SSR LS RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Fan comes on when air con is selected, but does not come on with air con off. Temp gets
to 215/220 degrees , but no higher still no fan operation? Temp has never risen any
higher. Why dosen't fan operate,what is controlling heat ?

Water temperature gauges on cars, including the SSR, are notoriously inaccurate. I would not put my faith in what your temperature gauge says.
