what causes overheating?

Asked by Joella J Apr 07, 2017 at 06:30 AM about the 2005 Toyota Sienna LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2005 Sienna V6 LE is overheating but both fans
are on. The reservoir cover popps  open and all the
water evaporates from the radiator. My ABS sensor
light turns on and the tire pressure sensor, and
engine light stays on.

A couple of problems, sounds like the thermostat needs to be changed, hopefully you do not have a blown head gasket, make sure the cooling system is purged after refilling, the car would need to be scanned for ABS codes to know where to look for the problem, it will indicate what it is, and the tire pressure thing, go to a tire shop to get that resolved. But you'll need to address the overheating issue first.
