How do I tell when it's in 4 wheel drive?

I have a 2005 Toyota Rav4 Base and don't know how to tell if it really does go into 4 wheel drive.  Is
there a light that goes on or a beeping noise?

Basically it is always in four wheel drive. It uses a system with a transfer case which splits power front to back all the time. So it more of an AWD setup then 4WD.

I'm wondering whether the RAV 4 - 2011 manufacture and registered in March same year is either 2/4WD or not ?
