Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a 2002 RAV4 about 6 months ago.  118.000 miles.  Transmission  sounds like
it's going to fall out when I put it into reverse.  I downloaded the info from this site and my
car seems to meet all the criteria except for the 10 years.  HELP! What do I do next?

Take it to a Toyota dealer and ask for an evaluation. Then take what they say (unless you decide to have them do the work). and go to a Repulpable (not some guy in his grungy garage or from the local giveaway want-ad paper), transmission shop (s)[ check Better Business Bureau, friends that have had successful work done, references from a mechanic you trust, ?] and then get bids and Their opinions. Add all the facts up see what all agree on, who will give a warranty, who will do the work for a reasonable amount NOT usually the lowest price and get the work done. Good Luck
