I have a 2001 Toyota with apx 200K miles on it. Need a transmission I want to cry!!

Asked by Lydvette Aug 18, 2015 at 05:37 PM about the 2001 Toyota RAV4 Base 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Until now, I didn't know that an alert/recall was publicized!  Never received a recall or email stating any issues.  I'm beside myself.  The tranny is apx same price as the car's worth.  Replacing ECM is not an option.  Seen by two qualified mechanics.  What do I do now??? Can I still sell it or trade in as is? help!  I thought I'd grow old with my car!

We had a similar problem with our 2001 rav 4. We traded ours in. They gave us $1000 for it even with a messed up transmission.
