Why oil light comes on if you don't need oil ?

My friend has a 1999 Toyota Rav4 . When she
starts it in the morning . It sounds like a diesil truck
.When it warms up its fine . But when she drives it
the oil light keeps blinking. But when she comes to
a stop . Tge oil light stays on . Yes . She checked
the oil.

The oil light may be on due to low oil pressure not oil level. Could also be the cause for the noise at start up. If there is excessive bearing clearance. Also oil pressure is at its lowest at idle which would explain the light staying on at a stop.

It could be yes....it could also be something as simple as a sensor that is bad and the noise isn't even related for all I know without hearing the noise. If it is oil pressure it means that the engine is failing and wont probably last long. That would honestly be my best guess by your explanation I'm sorry to say.

change the oil and filter...ALSO CHANGE .the oil sending unit....and then report back.............
