t/c and abs light comes on and sounds like not shifting gears?

t/c and abs light comes on periodically for over two months. Now sounds like it
is not shifting gears and gas mileage has decreased

Have to start by getting the codes read. The scanner has to be capable of reading ABS codes.

Wife and I bought a used 2010 Equinox which developed the same problem (transmission stayed in 2nd gear all the time). Transmission computer detected a fault in the transmission, which had to be rebuilt.
