Will check engine light automatically turn off after PO440, PO441 and PO446 codes are fixed?

Asked by fredeye Nov 30, 2013 at 09:38 PM about the 2003 Toyota Corolla CE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2003 Toyota Corolla CE has the check engine light on caused by the codes PO440, PO441 and PO446. I did several repairs and was wondering if the check engine light will automatically go out if the repairs are successful or do I need to reset the check engine light and wait to see if it comes back on.

a simpler way to wipe the codes is to disconnect the battery for 15 -30 minutes. the car will have the codes and engine light on till the compuiter is fully reset. so disconnecting its power source for that amount of time reboots the system.
