2002 Toyota Corolla oil problem

Asked by Apr 08, 2019 at 09:14 AM about the 2002 Toyota Corolla CE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So my car has been burning oil now I can smell it
when it gets low ... As wierd as that sounds .. and
I've been write every time .. now I was told because
at first it blew out smoke every now n than that the
gas and oil aren't getting burnt off write and
instead going through tail pipe n eventually
clogged it .. also I ever now and again have to take
spark plugs out clean them and put them back in
the engine .   Now reason for spark plugs is
because whatever the problem with car is it losses
power and white corrosion all over spark plugs so
it losses contact ... My question is what would it be
wrong with it n is it worth fixing ?

First, if you know the engine's burning oil, why would you let the oil run low? Oil contamination on the plugs reduces spark and the spark gets colder, and you lose power. Unburned oil & gas blow into the exhaust, destroying the catalytic converter and the Oxygen sensors. Your car in good condition probably isn't worth over $2,000, and repairs are likely to exceed that.
