Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I own a 2002 Toyota Celica GT 1ZZ-FE engine.  I was told that my voltage regulator was going bad
today by autozone.  Do I need to replace the whole alternator or can i just remove the voltage regulator
from it and replace it?

Hi, you can replace the regulator but it means disassembling the alternator, the best and easiest option for yourself would be to buy a good second hand or even reconditioned alternator from somewhere, I work for TCB Performance Parts LTD and we've been specialists in Celica's, Supra's and MR2's for over 25 years! :D
