Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey I just replaced the engine in my 2005 Cobalt and now when driving it
stays in first gear. Made sure the tourque converter was fully seated, the fluid
level is good, speedometer still works, everything else seems to be
functioning properly, shifts through park and reverse fine doesn't start in and
other shifter position. It was fine before i took the engine out any
suggestions!! All I keep finding in research is wheel speed sensor or tcm but
have none of the other associated problems. I haven't had codes read

this is hard sounds like you have a plug in to the transmission that is still unplugged. when you took the motor out did you drop the the tranny too?

No I didn't drop the transmission I've replaced the transmission a couple of months ago and it was fine right up until I put the engine back in. I've triple check all the plugs and labelled them all before removing the engine im going to check again to make sure I didn't miss anything it's been a week since I've had time to look at it perhaps fresh eye may turn up something new. Is there a specific sensor that would cause this problem I can check with a multimeter to make sure it's still working. Thanks for taking the time to answer.
