Sounds like you have a transmission leak. Is the fluid red in color? I hope you did not burn up the trany. Fix the leak and fill the trany up to its proper fluid level and try it. You may be ok, or you may not.
It was a really dark and dirty color, but someone said it was transmission fluid. Thank you, it is being towed to a shop to be looked at now!
