my 2005 chevy cavalier made a loud sewing machine sound and died wont start i tried starting it and it wont start

It made a loud sewing machine type noise then it died when I
stopped it wouldn't start back up it turned over acting like it was
flooded then it made a popping sound and now just clicks when
starting

either the valves are hammered or the engine lost all oil. any oil in the dipstick? either case.. u need a factory rebuilt engine. it seized.

The noise you heard was probably the timing chain breaking and sliding across the guides. There is a chance the pistons didn't hit the valves but jason is most likely correct unless you know how to replace the head and probably 2 pistons
