Battery or alternator?

I have a 2005 Toyota Camry LE last week I jump
started my jeep liberty and a couple of days later
had jumped it again but didn't start my Toyota
before hooking the jumper cables to it. I got the
jeep going but then later that morning my battery
light came on while I was headed to work. And
then later that evening I was headed home and all
these different lights on the console started
flickering on and off then I lost all power and had
to pull over and it was completely dead. I had it
towed to my house and tried to jump start it today
just to see and it started with a jump but as soon
as I took the cables off it started to fade and lost
power again. I would like to try and what I could
before having it towed to a shop.

Have alternator replaced and have the battery charged. A new alternator will recharge battery but since it is well below charge from running it to the point that if you jump it and take cables off and it starts to die out getting the battery fully charged is the best thing to do.

Indeed.....sounds like a bad alternator. You might also consider this. If that battery in question is more than 5 years old....you might consider a replacement. When the weather gets cold.....it has a negative impact on battery performance......especially an old one.

ANY MECHANICS PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS SITUATION. My small car is working fine, but battery wasn't working. Need to do jump start every time i want to go out. I bought a new battery and during installation of the new one, my nephew mistakenly connect the wires oppositely and a spark alerted him of the wrong connection. I quickly intervene and connect it correctly. However, the car starts okay but all other power accessories, power windows, car radio, locking system, lights, radiator fan and horn are not working. I replaced all the fuses but same problem. And also the car starts but goes off again when i remove the battery. please need some expert advice.
