Asked by Md Alam Feb 04, 2017 at 12:21 PM about the 2002 Toyota Camry XLE V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

when i am trying to start my car...sometimes it does not start with no crank
sound.
But if i shift the gear(P to R or D then put it back in P again)  and start...it
starts fine. This happens mostly in morning. the battery is new.

can anyone please tel  me...what may be the reason/issue? thank you.

Note: check engine sign is on and one mechanic examined and suggested, i
need to replace canister assembly.

Sounds like a Park Neutral Switch going bad. WE would start the diagnosis with a Scan Tool ...then ...follow with a Digital Volt Meter. Absent this special equipment....it's off to your favorite repair shop. You also might consider calling a few Auto Parts Stores and ask if they read computer codes for free. Write down the details...numbers and descriptions.....get back to us with results.

Consider a properly executed jump start. Careful now...find someone who knows how to do this procedure correctly. Incorrect result...big $$$$$$....repairs.
