Why it won't stay on?

If you saying the timing belt sounds like it is a tooth off the timing mark.

Suggest you take your vehicle back to the repair person and tell them ""You have a Comeback"....see if they are willing to fix their screw-up

My brother is the one who fixed it he always do my mechanical work but this time it didn't turn out so well but ok

Oooops.....my apologies.....surely he was trying to save you some $$$. Curious.....why was the belt replaced?

You good but my belt had spilt in half & it was dry rot

Let's just make sure.....you are referring to the TIMING Belt...correct?

Its the belt that connected to the alternator

Oh My....I'm afraid we have been going down the wrong road on this one. We thought you meant the TIMING BELT on this engine was replaced. Now we understand the DRIVE belt has been replace. Huge difference. Ok...now we have to sort of start all over. Does the Engine CRANK OVER OK? Like.....the battery is good and not sound dead? If it cranks over well...then the engine should start(fire-up) and RUN and IDLE about 800RPM. So,,,which is it,,,a no crank problem...or...a no start problem?

Oh I'm sorry, my fault. Its starts up every time but it want stay crank unless you driving. But when you stop or slow down it cut off but it'll start right back up.

Actually it sounds like your vehicle starts up and runs...but then stalls out. It will restart and run then stall again. Do you have to keep stepping on the gas pedal to keep it running? If this problem did not occur before the belt was changed....then one would have to assume something went wrong during the repair by your brother. He needs to double check his work. if that's no longer an option...then it's off to the repair shop for a diagnosis with a Scan Tool.

Yep you have to keep pressing the gas pedal to keep it running. & no we're going to a repair shop where we should have went to begin with. But i really think he did something to the alternator & thanks a lot for the help.
