My Discharge light came on. I ran it for a couple of days and it was good but while I had it running it died. Not fast but slow, I punched the gas and I got no rpm's

Asked by LorieHarris Feb 17, 2014 at 10:49 AM about the 2002 Toyota Camry LE V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car is 12 years old and little things are going. But I had a new motor put in a few
years ago and I'm not done with it. What could be causing the discharge...Thank you so
much.

Do you mean your battery light? If that came on most likely your alternator has quit. Your car will eventually die once your battery has been completely drained. If you have a battery charger, charge up your battery to full capacity. Start the car and see if it runs. If so, get it some where so it can be worked on. If you can put a volt meter on it, see if it's putting out at least 14 volts. If not, it's shot.
