Need to change timing belt on 2000 Totota Camry 57,000. Mechanic says cost is $750.00.Is it needed at this mileage and if so how much should the repair cost.

I think $750.00 is very high.  Also, don't have any problems with the car, always do required maintenance by the book. Should be able to go longer without this expense. Just need to know if I can wait and put on more miles. $750.00 is a lot!

seen 'em go 150,000, but the tensioner and tensioner bearing will wear out...then cause the thing to track off perhaps a couple of degrees...will be loose if you grab and shove it...so there are cheaper then the price...bake him a chocolate cake...show up and say 300 cash is all I got~

It's easy when u have the right tools,people thought I could not do it but they all ain't dirt that night when I drove by. Look check out the repair guides after checking them out a few times you'll develop that courage is being needs to seek,attack and Destroy good luck.
