The check engine light came on. It was the valve that needed replacing, I REPLACED IT RESET THE CODE BUT THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE?
What trouble code do you have? -Jim
What is the code? Can't help without the code.
Okay, I will get the code. Thanks
Also....it might help to know which valve was replaced.
code PO401 SYSTEM INSUFFICIENT FLOW DETECTED. I REPLACED THE VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE.
P0401 TOYOTA - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected...Possible causes; EGR passage clogged, Faulty EGR Vacuum Modulator Valve, Faulty EGR Valve, Faulty EGR solenoid valve, EGR solenoid valve harness is open or shorted, EGR solenoid valve circuit poor electrical connection, Dead (Weak) battery, Faulty EGR temperature sensor and circuit, Exhaust gas leaks...EGR flow malfunction could be caused by a clogged EGR valve or EGR tube. Before replacing any parts try cleaning the EGR valve, tube and passages.
Remove the vacuum hose from the EGR valve. Using a hand held vacuum pump apply vacuum to the EGR valve with the engine running at idle. The engine SHOULD stall. If not, either the EGR valve is not opening or the EGR passages are clogged. HTH. -Jim
Tayfree....did you ever resolve the issue with this vehicle?
Hi ,yes I did, it was the modulator. I changed ever thing in the air intake system and the code kept coming on. the modulator was used so I had to buy a new one. thanks for asking
