How thick is the sheet metal panel used on the roof of my 1999 Toyota Camry?

Question type: Car Customization

I am installing a roof rack onto my car! I will be drilling eight holes and
installing a plus nut into each hole (something like this
https://www.amazon.com/Steel-Cross-Nut-Pre-Bulbed-pre-
bulbed/dp/B008VGWFAI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1496592662&sr=8-
1&keywords=plusnut).
However, each plus nut is designed to accommodate a specific 'hole size'
and sheet metal thickness (the call this "Grip Strength"). Does anyone know
the "Grip Strength" or metal thickness of the metal panels on the roof of a
1999 Toyota Camry?

Interesting question. I would be inclined to find a spot on the edge of one of the fenders on this vehicle .....say at one of the wheel wells. Using a digital caliper...measure the thickness at that spot...and drill a hole...insert one of those plus nuts to see how strong it appears to be. What do you think?
