99 Toyota Camry dash light problem

Both the brake light and the light that tells you you
have a light out in the rear come on while in park or
neutral but not in reverse or drive what causes this
?

Check the wiring harness in the Trunk on the driver side hinge area. Do you see any frayed or broken wires. With the park lights on...move the harness around a see if any of your lights flash. Get back with results.
