Need to check the charging system on the car while it is running, to determine if it is working. The battery should be checked also. But there may be a problem with the head light switch, almost sounds like a short.

You are going to need a digital volt meter to continue the diagnosis. Less than 20.00 bucks at Walmart. A fully charged battery should read 12.6 volts DC on the meter. When the engine is running the meter should read 13.5 to 14 volts DC. This is a quick test...not a thorough test...of the battery and the charging system. So..what do you think?
