What Engine is in this vehicle? Curious....Why do you need to know the Camshaft Sensor location?

Not sure if anyone else can see the pics I posted? It's 2.2L but I have since found out on these it is non replaceable and part of the distributor assembly. So i have one on order. It is double the price but it is what it is I will be returning the sensor I was sold tomorrow. Thanks everyone for the input! :-)

As I recall...your vehicle may have 2 sensors denoting the position of the Crankshaft...and...another denoting the Camshaft. If you look closely inside your Distributor...you might see what appears as 2 gears. One has 4 teeth...and the other multiple teeth.

Look inside the ignition distributor. Do you see what appears to be a small gear with 4 teeth? What engine in your Celica?

Awe man those distributors are abundant at Pick Your Part junkyards. Or you can rebuild your own. Just order the insides of the distributor with seals included off the net. Just type in key words 96 CAMRY DISTRIBUTOR KIT WITH SEAL on google and surf. They are usually 10-12 bucks for the kit. It's actually fairly simple. If you can change a tire or spark plugs you can change the guts of these distributors. A lot of folks worry about putting the housing back in by marking it but it's literally Dumbass proof for guys like me. One side is larger than the other. The screw hole positions are placed in such away it's impossible to get it wrong. Even the rotor will only go back in the way it came out. It's impossible for that to go in backwards etc. The cap has numbers on it so you know what plug goes where. It's really easy guys trust me. Or you can order the whole assembly from eBay for 20-50 free shipping usually.

The hardest part of removing these distributors in removing all the air intake stuff. But that's easy. Just a lil time consuming. Say about 2-4hrs depending on your experience and tools and environment. I did mine in the parking lot of Pick Your Part and it was my first time. Took about 3 hrs but I was also socializing so....
