where is the fuel pump  and is it hard to replace

If you need to replace the fuel pump in a Toyota Camry, the pump unit is located inside the fuel tank directly below the rear passenger seats. You need to remove the seats from inside the car. Once they are removed the pump is easily accessible by opening a covered hole right above the tank.

this is a job where paying a mechanic is money well spent- modern gasoline is highly carcinogenic and contains benzene- which will soak through your skin and go straight into your bone marrow- don't breath it, either- let the mechanic ruin his health- that's why they make the big bucks

well I took the backseat out and there's a cover I removed which housed the gas gage sensor & the float mechanism-----so I guess I have to drop the tank???????????????

you know to hammer it round and round with a ball-peen and small chisel releasing the whole assembly...don't you?

will create an opening about 3 3/4" in diameter, just large enough to slip the float and intake sock through, has a key what will only let the float stay in one axis, so watch out for this as you wriggle it out~ of course disconnecting the fuel lines and electrical lines and taking a battery terminal off~

Sending unit is accessible by removing the back seats. The fuel pump is in the center right under the sending unit. I tried to make it easy and used a dremmel to get it from the top. Just to find out the lines on top of the pump are solid going across the top and down the side of the tank. Have to drop the tank to get complete access to the pump
