Knock sensor

Asked by Guru8MJXC Jan 09, 2020 at 03:50 PM about the 2000 Toyota Avalon XL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

How much does it cost to replace a knock sensor on a 2000 Avalon Toyota.
How long would this job take for the mechanics?

1 Answer

400

It should have two sensors. One for each bank of cylinders under the intake manifold. The job charges (3.1) hours for one or (3.2) hours for both sensors according to my estimate guide. Price may vary by shop rate. This obviously does not include the sensors or gaskets. Suggested dealer retail is $45CAD per intake gasket. You need 2. Suggested dealer retail on the sensors is $225CAD each. For both sensors the gaskets and labor @ $150hr is around $1000CAD. May be more, may be less but according to everything I have access to that's the best ballpark I can offer. Hope this helps.
