My 2005 Aveo Stall Only if I start engine when it is hot

Asked by Aveo1223 Jan 24, 2017 at 08:45 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Aveo 5 LS Hatchback FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2005 Aveo has 97k miles, and it running very good except stalling after
start engine when it is hot. It never stall if the engine is cold. If I start driving
when engine is cold, it never stall no matter how far the trip is. But, if I
stopped somewhere and shut the engine, When I was trying to get back on
road again, in most of the times the engine would stall. And the weird thing
is it only stall once. As soon as I started the engine again, it runs without
any problem. Stalling happens only after I start engine when it is hot, it will
jerk along for two to three yards and then stall. When it jerking along, it
does not matter how hard I was pressing the gas pedal, my car would not
accelerate. The service engine light is not on, so no code is read.

I believe this is electrical, a component like maybe the coil gets heated up, and probably is breaking down. May need to take it into a shop for diagnosis. You could check to see if there are any codes popping up by having the vehicle scanned at an auto parts store, if there are any codes just write them down and post them back here.
