my 94 toyota 4runner running hot and loading power like it's starved for gas

I have a 1994 Toyota 4runner is running hot
and losing power i changed the water pump
and timing i also changed thermostat
changed plugs and wires and valve cover
gasket what could cause my Toyota to run
hot and lose power also there was a port on
old water pump for a hose new one didn't
have what's the deal with that

Compression leak down test possibly head gasket or gaskets. I think you ordered the wrong part, or accidentally gave wrong ifo on 4runner
