2005 OBXT Stutter on Acceleration and P2096 Code

My car has been stuttering/surging on acceleration for a while now. It has a
check engine light and a P2096 code that tells me that the post catalytic O2
sensor says that it’s running too lean. Some of the things I’ve done to try to
fix it are:
- Cleaned the MAF sensor
- Replaced the fuel filter
- Replaced the upstream O2 sensor
- Replaced air filter

After I got the car back from the shop with a replaced O2 sensor the car was
running great but on more acceleration, I noticed the surging again and
when it persisted, the CEL came back on. The only modification is that I
removed the intake resonator but I sealed the hole and I’m pretty sure I had
this problem before I did this. I’ve heard that it could be a faulty TPS, but I’m
honestly out of ideas. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

So you replaced the REAR O2 also? If it's new then maybe it's not getting hot enough to function correctly, so check the wires and connector to it. I ran into this once when I moved a rear O2 further back (downstream) on a custom midpipe, wherein it didn't get hot enough to function without a software trim.

The rear O2 sensor has not been replaced. I replaced the upstream one before I read the code. I'll check the connection though. Do you think the rear one should be replaced?
