When I turn the key, my Subaru hesitates before starting. I am having to turn the key more than once and It is happening more often lately

I have to turn the key twice to start the car.

Maybe the car needs a tuneup. Is the battery weak? A worn ignition switch is a possibility.

That's what mine did when the battery was on the way out. Take it to any auto store and they will test it for free. If it's the battery read the threads about Subaru batteries before buying a standard replacement. I went with 800 CCA and haven't had that problem since.
