The first task is to isolate the leak and what's creating it. Is the light housing cracked? Is the trunk gasket intact? Is the trunk lid sealing properly? Was the car hit from the rear? Is the trunk lid aligned properly? Are the light fixture gaskets completely sealed? Determine where the leak is coming from first THEN you can determine how to stop it.

yea isolate the leak , i had a leak around the tail light seal in my 240sx, i got this "goop" stuff from autozone or pepboys ( they both have it) its like a clear gel that hardens. worked awesome i pulled the lights off , put a circle of goop around them put the lights back and it and stopped the leak
