1996 subaru legacy tires
I just bought the car 3 of the tires are
215/65/15's and 1 is 205/70/15... car
suggest the 205's . Do I just replace the 1
or do I have to buy all 205's?
All the tires must be the same size! Don't damage your AWD system. I would use the stock size if you can afford to do it at this time.
Those tires are fairly close in size but you really should change out all 4 or at least the one.
215/65R15 will clearly handle better than the 205/70 doughnuts used until 2000. Just buy the 215/65 and you'll be fine...and have better response than any other 1996-1999 OB out there. Even far better would be to start over with 16" wheels and go 225/60R16...as used 2000-2005. But if I were going that far I'd buy the 2006-2009 17" wheels and go 225/55R17, which outhandles ALL the others...inc newest too-tall sizes. 225/55R17...especially in H or V sidewalls, is a GREAT size for all OBs. Trust me...I've tried 'em all.
