Timing belt blew while driving

Asked by May 14, 2018 at 01:47 PM about the 1995 Subaru Legacy 4 Dr L AWD Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was accelerating while passing
a vehicle and the car just died.
Coasted to a stop, checked under
the hood and the timing belt is
shredded.
Did it blow my valves? Is it worth
putting a new belt in?
