Sound coming from the engine when revving

Stock ej25d engine

There is a knocking/tapping sound coming from the engine when revving. The sound
only occurs between 1500-2000 rpms. Most noticeble when taking off.

This does not happen when first starting up and driving. only after 5-10 minutes of
driving when the engine is warmed up a bit.
