2006 Chevy Cobalt wont start

Yesterday I changed my fuel filter in my car, it had
been giving me trouble starting after fueling up and  
randomly when i would try to start it. My car was
running fine yesterday before I changed the filter
and then after it was changed the car wouldn't
start. It sounds like it wants to and every now and
then it even will but only for a moment. It will start
the ideal smooth out and then it kills. If i try to give
it gas it kills. My dad sprayed carburetor cleaner,
still nothing. Any suggestions?
