What can make my 2006 Chevy cobalt act like its not getting fuel to it? It doesn't want to idle or run, it will start and when it does this the check engine light flashes. What's wrong with it?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It will crank and start just sounds like
its missing when you give it gas or
when its idling. I checked all the fuses
and checked the fuel filter.  When it
does this the engine light flashes and
it wont run, but if the light stays on
or off it runs fine

When the light stays on take to parts store like Auto Zone or another parts store like them and have them read your codes for you they will do it for free. They will tell you exactly what's wrong.

How did you check the fuel filter?

Gas pedal stopped in my cobalt while driving...upon pulling over and stopping car it wont restart at all..cranks but no start. I changed fuel filter...checked for spark...no check engine lights so no codes coming up. Was an all of a sudden issue...car was running fine to not at all because of gas pedal issue??? So lost.
