What are some suggestions that I do with my stock 2000 Subaru Impreza?

Question type: Car Customization

I've got myself a project car. It's currently completely stock with a 2.2L n/a,
about 155 on the odometer. I previously just planned to do a full exhaust,
coilovers, slightly bigger tires, new intake and possibly run a small turbo if
the engine could handle it. But I'm also open other ideas... maybe a swap? If
I do go that route what engines could be cleanly swapped without a lot of
hassle? Also if there are any common problems that occur with this gen
Subaru models some pointers would be great, thanks.

Swap it for a turbo model car and save yourself a lot of money and headaches.

I have done some looking online and there do not seem to be many engine upgrades available for naturally aspirated Subaru engines. All the goodies are for the turbo engines.
