6-1/2 is right size. The depth or the size of the magnet can make a difference. Hindering the window from going up and down. You may need a lesser quality speaker with smaller magnet
Go to Crutchfield for information. They have a guide that will help you select speakers. You could also remove a speaker and use it as a guide and then you would have no doubt as to what fits.
