why does a 96 vette shimmy

new tires balanced etc rims ok heard all 96 c-4 shimmy?

That would be caused by worn tie-rod ends.

If the shimmy is in the front then Tom is correct, but if it shimmys in the rear then it could be a number of things from incorrect rear alignment to C/V joints or axles. Independent rear suspension requires more attention than just a solid axle setup.
