Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i have a Subaru forester sf5, i had a check engine light but it wasn't flashing, i
figured i was running on three cylinders #1,3 and 4. cylinder #2 is not firing. I
changed the ecu and the engine harness. the car now starts but when I press
on the fuel pedal it does not rave or accelerate. Could it be the misfiring
cylinder or what could be the problem? kindly help

Why would you change the ECU and engine harness for a misfire? Did you check the spark plugs?

I changed the ecu and harness because the guy who had it previously had done a modification by using a Subaru impreza ecu and changed the timing belt pulley. the mechanic recommended that I change the plugs too
