Question type: Maintenance & Repair

There is oil on the side of the battery and on the top of the timing belt housing. Noticed it when I got to work because there was smoke coming out from under my hood. There was a lot of oil on the side of the battery and on the mudguard below. Any suggestions what this could be?

Hard to say what seal blew, there are at least 3 in that General area, but I suspect it to be the cam seal on that side but you won't really know until you get in there to see. I would not recommend driving it, oil on the timing belt could let it jump and that would not be good plus the oil loss could fry an engine.
