All of a sudden the oil pressure gauge went to zero, oil light and service light came on. Then it started sounding like a lawn mower and would bog down untill eventually shutting a few seconds later.

Possibly head gasket or oil pump?
What do you guys think it is?

Very unlikely that either the oil pump or head gasket would blow completely without warning. I would suspect a clogged oil filter or stuck check valve first. Pull the filter housing and see what's going on. Do not run the engine, the rockers have probably all run dry, you will do serious damage.

Does your dip stick indicate you have any oil in the engine? If not, find the leak and repair then refill. DO NOT RUN THE ENGINE until you can determine it is getting oil flow. Maybe your oil filter just came loose and fell off.
