A/C Stopped Working

Asked by gmanclan May 14, 2013 at 11:50 PM about the 2005 Pontiac Montana SV6 1SB Extended FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Montana and the A/C has stopped working. For a while it was taking a little
long for the air to actually start blowing but now it has stopped blowing all together. My
rear A/C is working fine. I think either the blower has gone bad or one of the resisters or
relays. The blower has gradually died out and now stopped working.

are the condensor coils getting cold? perhaps too cold? the refrigerant should be looked at~easy to overcharge it and get the condensor/evaporator balance out of whack...there is a filter/dryer what pulls any moisture out of the refrigerant stream to stop the blocking of the stream with ice. You know about the troublesome resistor pack, you could test it or just put in a new one...it's a sure bet...have had these fail on me too~

If the blower motor does not work on any speed, it's a bad motor or a fuse. If it only works on the highest speed, it has a bad speed control resister.
