2006 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX OVERHEATING

The car just barely started overheating. Took it to the shop and they said I
had no coolant. So they did a flush. It has been less than 2 weeks since
that was done and it started to overheat again. Engine light came on as
well. Took it back now they're saying the water pump is cracked and that I
cracked it within the time I had them do the flush until now. Is that possible?
Will replacing it fix the issue? I am beyond pissed, stressed and since I
know nothing about cars I feel clueless and I do not want to be lied to. Any
other possibilities as to what the issue could be?

It could be your water pump, but I'm sure it was going bad before they did the flush. They probably didn't do a pressure test on the cooling system to find any leaks until you took the car the second time. Water pumps go bad over time and will start to leak slowly from a weep hole as a warning to replace it before it completely goes out and causes other problems
