Wipers were working , just barely this morning

My windshield wipers were working fine this morning, and all of a sudden they were VERY slow even on  high speed, but they worked fine when using window wash. They are working alright now, not sure what could cause this, or if it will happen again.

Could be the wiper motor, the switch on the steering column or the linkage the hooks the wipers together could be dirty/gummed up or rusty. The linkage could be in need of a good cleaning and some grease.
