My wife explained to me while she was
driving in her 2004 Pontiac grand prix GT.
And today the first snow fall she went to
stop and her brake pedal got stuck at the
top and after pushing and releasing several
time with all her weight it released. And
seems fine to me. But I'm still concerned
and won't let her drive it till I figure it out.

Probably should take it in to get checked, anti lock system may be acting up. Have them scan for a ABS code.

I agree. That sounds like a potentially dangerous situation. Any good shop should be able to trouble shoot it and fix whatever's wrong. I've never heard of those symptoms. Let us know what they find.

Try jacking the car up and see if each wheel can spin freely after the parking brake is released. I had a rear caliper lock up on my 2006 Grand Prix and had to replace it. Moisture got in through a seal in the back of the caliper and seized up the parking brake mechanism.
